May Moments

by: Lauren knowles // digital editor

We’ve arrived at the end
of one of fashion’s favourite months.

They say that April showers bring May flowers—but for fashionistas, our minds wander elsewhere when May rolls around. Pre-pandemic, May brought one of fashion’s biggest nights of the year—the Met Gala. Though we’ll have to wait until September for this year’s Met looks, this past month was still full of fashionable moments.

So, here are five of our favourite glam ‘grams from the month of May featuring our fave celebs.

THE EBONY ENCHANTRESS

Ever since winning this year’s season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, we haven’t been able to keep our eyes off of Symone. In her first month as reigning Queen, she channeled Tina Turner for this look and turnt it all the way up! All hail the Queen of Season 13.

RAOUL ALEJANDRE x VALENTINO

Glam-god Raoul Alejandre announced this month that he has been appointed as the new Global Make-Up artist for Valentino Beauty. Using the brand’s double ended eyeliner, he created this gorgeous graphic liner look that we LOVE.

ADUT AKECH

Adut Akech is absolutely everything in this little black dress—and the pop of pink with the purse? We’re obsessed. We know she already won model of the year in 2019 but is it too early to vote for 2021?

BELLA HADID x JPG

After 6 years, Jean Paul Gaultier x Ready-to-Wear has been rebirthed. For the first collection of his return, Gaultier featured the one and only brunette bombshell, Bella Hadid. Just in time for summer, Bella brings mermaid magic to this nautical collection entitled “Les Marins”.

A VERY VERA WANG WEDDING

In custom Vera Wang, Ariana Grande was truly a fairytale bride. This silk charmeuse dress was an absolute dream—and her classic Grande pony (this time wrapped in a veil) allows for a glimpse at the plunging back of the garment. Cue wedding fever.
